As parents of three children, Scott and Karen Green are passionate about creating opportunities to empower all youth through education and extracurriculars. Through a relationship with Orange County Community Foundation, the Green family has generously provided funding for Big Brothers Big Sisters matches to experience a variety of new cultural, athletic and life activities.
Knowing many families are unable to afford the costs associated with after-school activities, the Greens worked with us to launch the BBBS STRIVE initiative. Through STRIVE, our youth can participate in enriching activities like Scouts, yoga, dance, martial arts, soccer and basketball. Simultaneously, they strengthen connections with their mentors, who are right by their side to cheer them on at practices, rehearsals and games.
This year, Scott and Karen brought a brand-new opportunity to us with the launch of their new event nonprofit, Oscar & Ma, which offers employment opportunities for people who need a second chance. With the Greens’ connection, we are hosting our very first virtual Easter egg hunt next month, giving our young matches an opportunity to celebrate springtime with Benny the Bunny.
Thank you, Scott and Karen, for your dedication to igniting potential for youth through mentorship!
