Spring is here! This new season means new activities, adventures and opportunities for matches. To celebrate the beginning of spring, here are five suggestions for outings with your Little.
1. SAT Mock Exam and Bootcamp

BBBSOC Training Room
*Free to attend
On April 7, current 10th and 11th grade Littles are invited to take a mock SAT exam to prepare for the college process and practice their test-taking skills. After completing the exam, Littles will return on April 14 to review their results with a Princeton Review representative and receive free Princeton Review course materials. (Littles must attend both workshops.)
2. Sandcastles on Main

Downtown Huntington Beach will be closing the block on Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway for a sandcastle building contest. Bring your Little to watch pre-selected teams compete in different categories to build the best fortresses. Learn techniques from the various and practice building your own sandcastle together. Or while you’re there, take a walk on the Huntington Beach pier, have lunch on Main Street or rent bikes and cruise along the boardwalk.
3. Earth Day Festival
April 14
10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Bolsa Chica

If your Little is eco-friendly or interested in the environment, Bolsa Chica Conservancy is hosting an Earth Day Festival at its Interpretive Center with activity booths, food and beverages, tours and even a bounce house.

Bring your Little for an incredible career-oriented opportunity. At this workshop, Littles will receive guidance in creating a resume and learn how to ace a professional interview. After completing both workshops, Littles will receive access to the Y.E.S. Job Board, job referrals, job fairs, networking nights, resume consultations and more.
5. Stand-up Paddleboarding

*Rental prices vary
Island Paddleboard is one of many locations to rent stand-up paddleboards for a journey around the harbor in Newport Beach. Enjoy some exercise (and an opportunity to jump off the board and swim)! Afterward, make sure to take the Balboa Ferry and conclude the day with a frozen banana or “Balboa Bar” on Balboa Island.
